Who's Living in Your Leaf Pile

About this event

Join us for "Who's Living in Your Leaf Pile," a fall program designed for families to explore the vibrant life hidden within leaf piles. Discover the diverse insects and arthropods that inhabit this natural neighborhood, using bug boxes and magnifiers to reveal the intricate food web at work. Learn about the relationships between leaves, their consumers, and the importance of this cycle for maintaining a healthy forest ecosystem. Participants will gain a newfound appreciation for letting leaves remain in their yards and understand how small actions can support biodiversity. The event will take place at the Nature Center, so please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on trails.
